Department of Political Science

About The Department

The Political Science Department at Vidyasagar College was founded during the academic year of 1960-1961. The Honours program was launched in the department in that same year. Since then, the knowledgeable faculty members have provided engaging lectures and study materials to students, which have contributed to the department's continuous record of academic achievement over the years. Students in the department are encouraged to pursue advanced studies to broaden their knowledge and prepare for various national and state-level administrative service examinations. To achieve this goal, the faculty members arrange class lectures, interdisciplinary classes, engaging sessions, the use of political maps, discussions on current events, and tutorial sessions, allowing students to gain a wider understanding of the most recent socio-political developments.
