The Department of Mathematics has strived to be a centre of excellence in emerging area of Mathematical science since its inception. The department has been vigorously engaged in teaching and research to produce the high quality education in our society. At present, the department has six energetic and dedicated faculty members. The faculty members are active in several research areas, such as: Algebra, Differential Geometry, General Relativity and Cosmology, Fluid Dynamics, Water waves phenomenon, Integral equation, Nonlinear Dynamics, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Homogony Analysis method, etc.
The department also boasts of hosting visits of very good number of distinguished mathematicians. The department has its own Computing Laboratories and Departmental Library. The department has taken few steps in its pursuit of excellence – time-to-time review of course curricula, organizing student seminars, Conferences, Job oriented workshops including some social and cultural activities. The department also strives for excellence through research and excellent teaching driven by curiosity and creativity. Many of the graduated students have gone for higher studies in reputed universities. Some of the students are also recruited through the campus placement.
