Infinitesimal To Infinite 2.0, a one day National Level Seminar series organised by Department of Physics, Vidyasagar College in collaboration with Calcutta Institute of Theoretical Physics (CITP), Kolkata and IQAC, was held on 23rdDecember, 2026. This seminar series is for a general audience and the purpose is to promote Physics/Science for all. The talks are in general delivered in Bengali or in mixed mode. There were two memorial lectures :
- Prof. Kulesh Chandra Kar Memorial Lecture was given by Prof. Swagatam Das, ISI, Kolkata. Introduction of Prof. K. C. Kar was given by by Dr. Prabhat Ranjan Ghosh, a renowned mathematician. Introduction of Prof. Swagatam Das was given by Dr. Mrinal Kanti Chakraborty. Prof. Das talked about ‘Artificial Intelligence’ : its use, problems and application in recent times.
- Prof. Haraprasad De memorial lecture was given by Dr. Joydip Mitra, Scottish Church College, Kolkata.Introduction of Prof. Haraprasad De was given by Dr. Sushil Sarkar, an ex-faculty of Vidyasagar College and Secretary, CITP. Introduction of Dr. Joydip Mitra was given by Dr. Saugata Bhattacharyya. The title of Dr. Mitra’s talk was ‘Playing with Dimensions: Math, Myth and Physics’. He gave new informations regarding Prof. De. Then he talked about dimensions in Physics, related history and concepts.
Last year it was held on 23th December, 2025 and almost the same format is maintained this year also.
