Details of the program:
The program was inaugurated by Dr. Natasa Dasgupta, Principal, Vidyasagar College. A brief introductory speech was given by Dr. Sanchari Goswami, Convenor, Cultural Committee followed by a short welcome address by the Principal, Dr. Natasa Dasgupta. Smt. Arpita Ghosh, district judge, DLSA Kolkata, talked about the present scenario of child marriage and dowry given-taken in West Bengal. She also discussed about the legal steps that can be taken if someone is stuck in such a situation or has information of any incident. Smt. Arpita Ghosh and Sri Pradip Ghosh shared their direct experiences of such incidents. There was a question-answer session at the end of the talk, where the members of DLSA and the students and faculty members of Vidyasagar College actively participated.
The certificates of the Debate competition held on 13/01/2026 were given away to the students at the end of the program.
